film noir - a style or genre of cinematographic film marked by a mood of pessimism, fatalism, and menace. The term was originally applied (by a group of French critics) to American thriller or detective films made in the period 1944–54 and to the work of directors such as Orson Welles, Fritz Lang, and Billy Wilder.

Strictly speaking, film noir is not a genre, but rather the mood, style, point-of-view, or tone of a film. It is also helpful to realize that 'film noir' usually refers to a distinct historical period of film history - the decade of film-making after World War II, similar to the German Expressionism or the French New Wave periods

“noir” film: Stranger on the Third Floor from 1940

I firstly noticed how different the screen play is in the videos and the photos from todays screen play. The videos and the photos are all in black and white.

Double Indemnity Official Trailer #1

This is a trailer for a movie. By watching this trailer i can tell that it is based on a Murder as it says this many time and is shown in bold white text on the screen multiple times. What I can gather from the trailer is that one man falls in love with woman that is in trouble with another man and the only way she can get out of the trouble is if she kills the man but she cant do it on her own so she asked the man that loves her to help kill him so they can live happy and free together.

Between 0:36 and 0:55 this shows she is trying to manipulate him in to killin the man by kissing him a lot. To show she loves him a lot.

1:28 to 1:40 show they are not doing something they are suppose to do because she is hiding behind the door and he is talking to the man they want to kill. this is at the end of the trailer because it makes people want to watch more.
